The following items have been reported:

1. Light printing of some elements in figures. (See figure 2-11, page 28)
   These are the result of an incompatibility in the software used to create the manuscript for the book and the software used to create the figures. This defect will be corrected when the book is updated.
2. Confusion about the capabilities of SMICng on the CD-ROM.
   Appendix C describes the "Pro" version SMICng. On the CD-ROM is "Book" version of SMICng. The Book version has a subset of the output capabilities found in the Pro version. Running SMICng with the "hc" command line option will output a list of the command line options. The Pro version can be obtained from SNMPinfo.
3. On page 491, there is a typo.
   The command line under point 1, which is
   smicng -Z mymib.imf mymib.inc
   should be
   smicng -Z -F mymib.inf mymib.inc
4. The mib2html program does not correctly process MIB files that contain a NOTIFICATION-GROUP construct.
   At present, there is no correction.
5. On page 94, there is a list of display formats containing a typo.
   The line that reads
   | "b" -- display value in binary
   should be
   | "a" -- display value in ASCII
6. On page 206, line 4 should read "plan for move to SMIv2 format MIB modules."
7. On page 255, line 6 says MODULE-CONFORMANCE, and should say MODULE-COMPLIANCE. And its index reference on page 502 should be part of the MODULE-COMPLIANCE index entry.
8. On 393, figure A-6 is incorrect. The tag for integer is 2, instead of 1 as specified in the figure. The corrected figure is:
   
9. On page 139, there is a "cut-and-paste" error. In the example, the two constructs should be read "AGENT-CAPABILITIES" and not "MODULE-COMPLIANCE".
10. On page 403, figure B-1 specifies a value of 1 for the version field. The value should be zero.
11. On page 51, there is a missing "::=" between "C64" and "TEXUAL-CONVENTION".
12. On page 23, section 2.2.3 contains descriptions of administrative assignments. The definitions for enterprises and private are switched and somewhat ambiguous. The lines should read:
    private--area for delegation of subtrees
    enterprises--area for delegation of subtrees to enterprises, that is, anyone who asks for an enterprise number
13. On page 64, the keyword NOTIFICATIONS was omitted. The source is v2-NOTIFICATION-GROUP construct, in it is found only in SMIv2.
